Senior thrashed for ragging protest

JAIPUR: An MSc student who opposed ragging of juniors was allegedly thrashed by some of his fellow students behind the Assembly building late on

Friday evening. He was allegedly attacked by 10-odd youngsters who beat him with iron rods. A case has been registered against four youths, including one of the victim's classmates.

"Sanwarmal Jat, a student of Subodh College, had a minor brawl over ragging with his classmate Sandeep Munjal a few days back. Sandeep was harassing some juniors two-three days back on the college premises. When Sanwarmal protested, they had a brawl but after the college administration
interved, the issue was resolved," a police official said.

But that was not to be. Sanwarmal says he received threat calls and was then attacked.

The police have now lodged a case against four. All the four are absconding.
