Bhopal, Aug 23 (IANS) Sixteen students of Dr. Harisingh Gour University in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar town have been suspended for 15 days after being accused of ragging their juniors, an official said Sunday. The action was taken after a group of B.Pharma students of the university allegedly threatened and harrassed some freshers.

The victimised students reported the matter to the university administration and also lodged a police complaint.

“We have suspended all 16 students, accused of ragging juniors, for a fortnight and will decide upon the future course of action at a board meeting Wednesday,” university proctor R.P. Mishra said.

A police officer told IANS that they have issued “a strict warning to the students that they will not harass any junior”.
