New twist to CAU suicide

IMPHAL, May 12: A fresh controversy emerged today with regard to the alleged suicide of a student of Central Agricultural University ( CAU), with the concerned JAC threatening to launch agitations in case the government and the concerned authorities fail to fulfill its demands within May 15.

Seram Sanatomba, son of Ibochou of Balaramkhul Maning Leikai, Nambol in Bishnupur district was found dead inside his hostel room at CAU, Iroishemba here on May 6 last.

Although his boy had been claimed by the family and locals, a JAC was formed regarding the death as the family and JAC suspected foul play. It also expressed suspicions that Sanatomba could have been killed in ragging. The JAC threatened to launch various agitations in collaboration with NGOs, meira paibis and student bodies if the government fails to fulfill its demand.
