Ragging Case Reported at Polytechnic Institute

Patna: Police in Patna on Thursday filed an FIR against five Government Polytechnic Institute students at Pataliputra Colony after a student complained of being harassed by some his seniors.
City Superintendent of Police (SP) Shivdeep Lande, after being informed about the ragging case by none other than the Speaker of Bihar Assembly Uday Narayan Chowdhary, rushed to the college and quizzed the ragging victim and college staff.
The student who was identified as Amresh Kumar, with tears rolling down his eyes, told the police that he was being ragged by five students of the sixth semester.
A search of the campus produced no result but the police continue to look for Amresh's tormentors.
It is not known how the Speaker of the House come to know about the alleged ragging case.
"We have zero tolerance for ragging at our institute and once identified, these students will be expelled," a college spokesperson said.
