Hassan, 13 Jun 2013: A teenage girl student of high school on Wednesday June 12 committed suicide by hanging to the fan in her house located in Vivekanagar layout, near here over ragging.
The fourteen-year-old Anusha, daughter of Rangaswamy and Class IX student of Adichunchanagiri Kannada Medium School, here committed suicide in her home when none was around.
Anusha left behind her death note that stated that a certain boy studying in the same school was abusing her and her friend Dakshayini. Anusha’s mother works in a garment factory located in industrial area and her father Rangaswamy is working in a cement shop.
Rangaswamy alleged that he had complaint of abuse to a teacher at Anusha’s school, but the latter had belittled his complaint. The sub-inspector Vijay Krishna visited the family and registered a case in this regard. Further investigations are under way.
