Patna, Sep 27 (PTI) Bihar state secretary of the CPI B N Lal today backed the demands of Patna University students who are sitting on an indefinite fast before the vice-chancellor's office to protest the pro-vice chancellor Syed I Ahson's "anti-student attitude" and putting an end to ragging of girl students. Lal who visited the PU campus to express solidarity with the students sitting on an indefinite fast asked the government to intervene to find out an amicable solution to the anarchy prevailing on the campus and ensure that the students withdraw their agitation. Lal said members of party's student wing All India Students' Federation (AISF) led by its state secretary were sitting on a fast unto death since September 25 against alleged unsavoury remarks made by the Pro-VC against Bihari students, cancellation of Rs 1000 fine imposed on them as late fine for filing of registration forms. The agitating AISF students have also demanded that proper action should be taken against those responsible for ragging of a Patna Women's college student last month.
