Nawanshahr: For the first time in the district, three engineering students have been booked by the Nawanshahr police for their alleged involvement in ragging. The case was registered at the Pojewal police station on the basis of a complaint lodged by Bhupal Singh, vice-principal of IITT College of Engineering, Pojewal, against three second-year engineering students, Amit Mishra and Rakesh Kumar and Vinay Kumar. The complainant has said that he received a number of complaints from first-year students that they were being threatened, abused and asked to perform objectionable tasks by the seniors. A few first-year students reportedly boycotted classes on Monday in protest against the delay in action.
