Five students charged with ragging junior

The police registered cases against five B.Tech. students studying at Warangal Institute of Technology and Science (WITS) on charges of ragging on college campus at Gudeppadu of Atmapur mandal in the district.

It was alleged that a junior student, E. Rohit Reddy, of B.Tech. first year was forced to smoke a cigarette and undress on the road. He brought it to the notice of college authorities who in turn complained to the police.

A senior student, K. Ranapratap, was booked under charges of ragging and four others are being interrogated, police said.
