3 students held for ragging juniors

HYDERABAD: Punjagutta police arrested three engineering students of Muffakham Jah College involved in ragging juniors. The seniors also reportedly beaten up the juniors.

According to police, three students, Shreyas (second year), Rakshith (fourth year) and Aditya Yadav (third year), all studying Bachelor of Engineering in Muffakham Jah College at Banjara Hills ragged their juniors around 4.35 p.m on Friday. The senior students invited some juniors, all studying first-year BE, to a nearby coffee shop and started teasing them, police said.

The seniors also invited a few girl students. As soon as the juniors reached the coffee shop, the trio started teasing them asking vulgar questions. “When the juniors did not answer their queries, the trio beat them up,” police said.
One of the junior students lodged a complaint with Punjagutta police.

Based on the complaint lodged by Prudhur Dev, a resident of Saroornagar, Punjagutta police arrested the three students and registered a ragging case on them.
