Six students arrested for ragging

Coimbatore, September 24: Six students of a private college on the city outskirts were today arrested on charges of ragging a first year student, who had to be hospitalised following the incident, police said today.

The student Muhammed Sadiq was asked by some seniors to remove his shirt and put their shirts on, but Sadiq refused following which they allegedly attacked him yesterday.

Sadiq was allegedly injured in the incident was admitted to a hospital, police said.

Based on a complaint filed by the family members of the victim, police arrested six second-year students.
