Ahmednagar (Maharashtra), Jan 26 (PTI)
A student of a law college committed suicide apparently due to ragging, police said today.
Prashant Chitalkar, a second student of son of Fergusson College in Pune, committed suicide in Khadambe Rahuri taluka where he had gone to his uncle's place. He ended his life by jumping in a well, police said adding the ragging angle could not be ruled out.
Additional Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunil Kadasane told PTI that they are investigating if ragging was a reason behind him committing suicide.
"It is learnt that he had come to his uncle's place as he was fed up with ragging in his college," he said adding a case would be registered only after the inquiry.
Meanwhile, Rahul Pabalkar, a Bsc (Pharmacy) student of Sangamner Pharmacy College, hanged himself to death.
